The Goodwood Revival Motorsport Weekend

Sep 23 2014

Your venerable correspondent donned period clothing and dusted off the cheese cutter and cravat to attend the Revival meeting at the racing circuit at Goodwood in West Sussex.

Motor racing started on the Goodwood estate in the early 1950’s after being a fighter aerodrome during WWII. It closed in the 1960’s for motorsport but regained a racing licence in the mid 1990’s and the Revival event is a celebration of the classic period motor racing. Most of the 140,000 attendees dress in period and it is as much about the fashions as the cars.
